Eighth in the series: Ibn Khaldun.

About Ibn Khaldun: Sometimes thought of as the first economist, Ibn Khaldun was an all round social theorist and historian. He is most famous for his ideas about social solidarity, and the difficulty of maintaining this solidarity as economies develop. He also wrote perceptively on the methodology of the social sciences, working within a broadly Aristotelian framework.
